Large amounts of have actually been seized by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was talked to by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is important that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be unsafe.

"These kinds of items being sold, generally online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
